Ulster Board completes January organizational meeting; Highway superintendent retires

NY ULSTER — Ulster Town Board completed its January organizational meeting with routine approvals and appointments. Highway Superintendent Frank Petramale announced his retirement effective September 2026 after 38 years with the town, earning a standing ovation. The board unanimously reappointed members to the Planning and Zoning boards, appointed Laura Hartmann as Board of Ethics chair, authorized nearly $306,000 in capital equipment purchases for the highway department, and approved the 2026 fee schedule.
The board also authorized the supervisor to seek proposals for GASB 34 financial compliance services.
